After being taught by a world-renowned singer, Jenna Monroe, Katryna has developed her classical based training, building an emotive style described as being similar to Sarah Vaughan, Amy Whinehouse and Duffy.
Katryna Abel has worked in the music industry for 5 years, studying at Brighton Insitute Of Modern Music alongside her professional experience. She has integrated herself into musical circuits in Brighton, London, and the wider European festival scene.
The live sector has been where Katryna has developed her versatile style. She started in a 6 piece band playing what was described as, future soul fusion; gigging and releasing music for two years. She then developed into a solo artist with a backing band, performing original songs in the style of soul and jazz. This band gigged and released music for two years in and around Brighton and London.
Alongside performing as a solo artist in Brighton, Katryna was also working as a backing singer in bands of an eclectic mix of genres, from Funk, Soul, Folk, to Hip-hop. (Duncan disorderly and the scallywags, Ben jamming, Rivv, Najjiday, The 3 rivers, Cained and Cat, Olivia May Green, Ryan Maynard, Oceans)
She now deps for 2 bands in London, playing for swing dancers on a weekly basis.
As well as gigging in the week, 2022 was a full summer, gigging at 10 festivals with 3 different projects, the bigger festivals included Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown and Bimble. 2023 is set to be even busier!
Session Work
Katryna has done session work for composer Craig purees “American composer, musician, arranger, and gold & platinum record producer” recording demo pitches. She was also featured on The Ganda Boys Album “Mountains Of The Moon” in the track "Something of my life".
Recently katryna has been in a collaboration with Producer and musician 'Damaui' and 'Sick Trumpet' who release under Soave Records. In 2021 they released "changed", their track has since reached over 3 Million plays on Spotify. The trio are currently writing to release new material in 2023.

HIRE
If you have a track or any type of media needing vocal, I am available to hire as a session singer. For a price we can discuss I can offer a lead vocal and Backing vocals.
My voice is versatile, so I can mold to most genres. I specialize in Jazz and soul, coming from a jazz background I am good at improvising and being creative with melodies. I can also follow briefs and reference tracks to emulate other singers if that what you're after.
Alongside the main Vocal, I will add 2 or 3 part harmony; Tenor, Alto, and Soprano parts, normally this will be added in the chorus or hook lines.
I can also write some lyrics if you provide a brief as to what you want the song to be about (this comes with the premium package)
This is all recorded from my home studio, in which the vocal booth is acoustically treated. The tracks will be sent over dry. I do not offer mixing or mastering, unfortunately. You can also choose between what mics I use, I have a condenser (offering a bright, clean vocal) or a ribbon mic (warm, lifelike, sounds like an old 50s recording).
